A tragedy unfolded in Chicago as an innocent 11-year-old boy lost his life trying to shield his pregnant mother from harm. Crosetti Brand, a 37-year-old man with a violent history, had just been released from prison when he attacked the family. Despite an order of protection, Brand forced his way into the home, stabbing both the mother and her son.
Though just a child himself, 11-year-old Jayden Perkins bravely stepped in to protect his mother, who was eight months pregnant. Tragically, Jayden suffered a fatal wound to the chest, succumbing to his injuries despite the efforts of paramedics. His mother, though critically injured, survived after receiving multiple stab wounds. Her 5-year-old son was also present for the horrific attack.
Brand faces numerous charges for the heinous crime, including first-degree murder.
